Green Hope High School varsity men’s soccer downed Pinecrest in the NCHSAA state semi-final match, 2-1. Coach Chadwick had these comments: “I was asked the question after the game what feeling I have after losing in the semi-final 4 times earlier and now winning the for the first time in the 5th chance, my response was “Relief.”

Soccer fans across the Triangle could only be disappointed when the RailHawks and five other teams announced they were leaving the USL in September. So yesterday’s announcement of a new league brought a sigh of relief. There will be professional soccer in Cary come April.
