Cary, NC -The ’98 Triangle Futbol Club’s Cosmos soccer team, which trains in Cary at Davis Drive Middle School, won the U12 Bronze bracket at the Dick’s 9th Annual Charlotte Invitational tournament last weekend, defeating the 98 HFC White team from Asheville, NC in the finals.
Saturday was Military Appreciation Night at Wake Med Soccer Park. And the Railhawks brought their own firepower to bear with a 2-0 over the Montreal Impact.

The Carolina RailHawks (6-4-6, 24 pts) fell to the Rochester Rhinos (9-5-6, 33 pts) 1-0 on Tuesday night. The RailHawks were unable to equalize after an own goal from the RailHawks’ Matt Bobo in the 68th minute.
“We didn’t take our chances,” said RailHawks head coach Martin Rennie. “We had a key chance just before they scored and we missed an open shot, and the game changes when they score. That’s what it came down to, because we possessed well, and played reasonably well. But if you don’t take your chances, and give the other team a goal, this is what happens.”
Foodies and futbol fans unite: The Carolina RailHawks announced today they will hold their Second Annual local restaurant showcase “Taste of the Triangle” on Wednesday, August 18 at 5:30 p.m. at WakeMed Soccer Park.

Although this event isn’t specifically about Cary, anyone involved in athletics in this town should be interested in attending. From high school booster club members, to parents who foresee a career in college or pro athletics for their kids, this expo is geared for you.
Cary NC – Thousands of miles away from the World Cup in South Africa, the deafening drone of those vuvuzela’s, the soccer world’s popular fan horns, filled the air at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday night and provided a “World Cup-like atmosphere” for the RailHawks duel against NASL Conference rival Montreal Impact.
It was Bark in the Park at Wake Med Soccer Park on Saturday. The RailHawks tied Crystal Palace Baltimore 1-1, but it was the dogs who had the final yelp.
