Our roving photographer, Karl Fisher, caught up with the latest Starlight Series concert in the garden at Page Walker. The band was “Old Habits,” a popular bluegrass band from Raleigh. Judging from the pictures, a good time was had by all.

On Friday, Jan. 22, at 7:30 PM, the Herb Young Community Center played host to a dysfunctional job interview, a family on the brink of financial disaster, a most unusual marital relationship, a feisty grandmother, a first date with multiple personality disorder, a mature couple searching for love, and a grade school reunion that nearly becomes a mob scene.

Critically acclaimed for their innovative style, The Mallarme Chamber Players blend traditional works with the diverse and rich history of America. Expect to hear African, Latino, Indian, Middle-Eastern and Asian influences mixing with the classical repertoire of a chamber orchestra. They might be the Triangle’s answer to the Chronos Quartet.
