VYPE Magazine is hosting the first annual High School Sports Conference and Expo at the State Fairgrounds’ Expo Center from 9-5pm on Saturday August 21. Although this event isn’t specifically about Cary, anyone involved in athletics in this town should be interested in attending. From high school booster club members, to parents who foresee a career in college or pro athletics for their kids, this expo is geared for you.

Reports from the field have Panther Creek inundating Green Hope 34-7 at PCHS Homecoming. The Catamounts rise to 4-3 on the season and the Falcons fall to 0-8.

The air was mild and dry for Green Hope Homecoming 09. The Navy SEALs parachuted into Falcon Stadium, Danny’s Barbeque served up dinner, the band played, the cheerleaders, dance team and twirlers all contributed to the spirit, and yes, there was a football game.
Oh what a night! All the elements of a great night under Friday night lights…a crisp band, dry field conditions, a good crowd, sponsors being honored at halftime and the field alive with cameras for the Time Warner Cable game-of-the-week. Despite the high spirits in the stadium, Green Hope was on the losing side of a 58-0 outcome.
At Green Hope, the varsity football is in a “team building mode”. Seems that that has been the story for years. However, the news this year is that the junior varsity team is showing some success.
