The Eastern N.C. Chapter of Make-A-Wish will be holding its annual gala event to “celebrate the wishes of the year past and raise funds for those yet to be granted” on May 1 from 7 pm until midnight. NBC17’s Donald Jones will emcee the event at Embassy Suites on Harrison Oaks in Cary.

The Chatham Street Café is set to host “Handmade for Haiti”, an afternoon of shopping for local handmade items to benefit Doctors Without Borders.
