The Eastern N.C. Chapter of Make-A-Wish will be holding its annual gala event to “celebrate the wishes of the year past and raise funds for those yet to be granted” on May 1 from 7 pm until midnight. NBC17’s Donald Jones will emcee the event at Embassy Suites on Harrison Oaks in Cary.
The Chatham Street Café is set to host “Handmade for Haiti”, an afternoon of shopping for local handmade items to benefit Doctors Without Borders. A selection of eleven local artists and designers will be selling accessories, bath and body products, home décor items, jewelry, soy candles and more—perfect for Mother’s Day gifts! An interesting aspect of being part of CaryCitizen is that I learn about the different musical groups that perform in our diverse town – for charity. Recently a friend asked that we add an event to the CaryCitizen calendar.
