Teams and Sign Up
This is where you can sign up to compete in the Cary Scavenger Hunt.
Adult Teams
Adults teams are up to 4 people. Sign up as a team. Give yourself a Team name (example: “Cary Clue Makers”). Each team must assign 1 captain. Game on.
Family Teams
Family Teams are two or more people. One of those people must be over 18 and have a car, license and insurance. Assign a team name (example:”Fantastic Four”), and a team captain.
More about Teams
- Teams have to stay together during the competition, 1 car per team.
- Cell phone or digital camera is a must
- Designate a Captain for your team
- Registration begins at 9am at Koka Booth Amphithteatre
- Captains get the clues at 10 a.m.
- Teams should make a plan, knock off as many as you can and report back at Koka Booth. Adult teams must be back at 3 p.m. Family Teams must return at 2p.m.
- Teams with the most points win the grand prizes.
- All decisions of Judges are final.
- Please obey all speed limits posted. CaryCitizen is not responsible if you receive a traffic ticket!
Earn Extra Points
With all the excitement about Google wiring up some small town in America, we thought we should include a few extra points for social-media savvy contestants.
Most of these bonus points involve mobile communications – apps you might use on your cell phones. If not, you have a couple of weeks to make sure at least one member of your team is prepared.
- TWITTER – Tweet your progress (one tweet per clue) during the day. Use the hashtags #cary and #scavengerhunt. 10 points per tweet , 100 points max.
- FACEBOOK – Post pictures to your Facebook profile. Use @carycitizen to get credit. 10 points per clue picture., 100 points max.
- FOURSQUARE – Check in at up to five locations. 10 points per check in, 50 points max.
