The air was mild and dry for Green Hope Homecoming 09. The Navy SEALs parachuted into Falcon Stadium, Danny’s Barbeque served up dinner, the band played, the cheerleaders, dance team and twirlers all contributed to the spirit, and yes, there was a football game.
Oh what a night! All the elements of a great night under Friday night lights…a crisp band, dry field conditions, a good crowd, sponsors being honored at halftime and the field alive with cameras for the Time Warner Cable game-of-the-week. Despite the high spirits in the stadium, Green Hope was on the losing side of a 58-0 outcome.
Like an ancient Greek tragedy, Green Hope High School football continues win-less this season, falling to Athens Drive 33-7.
GHHS played a good first half, with Athens putting up the first score. At halftime, it was 13-7 . Green Hope came back to the 3rd quarter fired up. Drew LLoyd completed a couple of long passes [...]
Green Hope High School varsity football lost a hard-fought battle to Durham Jordan 24-14 on Friday evening.
Jordan put seven on the board first, but Green Hope answered with a QB sneak by LLoyd. The missed conversion left the score 7-6.
