The town has notified CaryCitizen that an abundance of grease led to a 1,723-gallon sanitary sewer overflow from a surcharging manhole near the 900 block of Hamshire Court. An observant citizen contacted the town around 9 a.m. on January 25. Unfortunately the waste reached an unnamed tributary of Walnut Creek. No fish kill was observed.

Mayor Harold Weinbrecht delivered an optimistic and forward-thinking State of the Town Address to a packed house at the Cary Chamber “Eye Opener Breakfast” this morning at Prestonwood Country Club.

For the second year Crescent State Bank is the sponsor of Green Hope High School’s wrestling Team “Scramble” meet to be held this year on Saturday, January 30th. The Crescent State Scramble’s format is a 16 man double elimination individual tournament.
