The Green Hope Falcons Men’s Soccer team defeated Panther Creek 2-0 Saturday evening. Coach Chadwick had this to say:
This was a critical game against Panther Creek for us to remain in the hunt for the Tri9 Conference Championship. Also, we knew we’d have a large crowd on hand for a Saturday night game against our rival from just 2 miles away.
We’re starting to click at the right time and the entire squad played well. Getting goals from our forwards in this match (Nader Jaibat and Andrew Wolschlag) is something we’ve been working on, so to have success was important.
We’re so pleased to get another shutout, too. Our whole team defends well and James Earle, our goalkeeper is on track to set the Green Hope record for the most shut-outs in a season. We’ve had 11 shutouts and only given up goals in 4 games all season. If we continue that trend, we’ve got a chance to have a special season.
The Tri9 standings are getting interesting at the top:
School Overall Conference
Apex 12-3-0 9-2-0
Green Hope 10-2-3 8-1-2
Fuquay-Varina 13-2-0 8-2-0
Middle Creek 7-5-4 5-3-3
