Cary Police have issued an alert in response to a wave of burglaries in the south east loop of Maynard Rd.
Eight break-ins have occurred since February. Five took place in the Greenwood Forest neighborhood since June, according to a WRAL report.
Reports say the thefts have thus far been confined to sheds and outbuildings. Power tools are a favorite target.
But police are concerned that the criminals may become emboldened to expand their turf to include garages and even homes.
